Hi, I’m Aaron Armstrong

I’ve been writing here since 2009 (back when it was known as bloggingtheologically.com). I am the author of several books for all ages, including Faith Simplified: What We Believe and Why We Believe It, I’m a Christian—Now What?: A Guide to Your New Life in Christ, and Epic: The Story that Changed the World. I’ve also written Bible studies for The Gospel Project, one of the world’s bestselling Bible study curriculums, and two documentaries, Through the Eyes of Spurgeon, and the award-winning Luther: The Life and Legacy of the German Reformer.

I am a teacher and ministry leader with 20 years experience serving local churches. My work has been published by Harvest House Publishers, B&H Publishing Group, Lexham Press (an imprint of Baker Publishing Group), and featured in places like Christianity Today, The Gospel Coalition, and Gospel-Centered Discipleship.

About Me

Here are a few things you might like to know about me:

I came to faith in Jesus as an adult

I went from being a pretty average guy who didn’t care if Jesus was real to someone who has spent over 20 years helping people know him and follow him more faithfully. You can learn more about that story here and in my book, I’m a Christian—Now What?.

I’m the author of 8 books (and counting)

My books all focus on different aspects of discipleship—helping Christians better know and love the God who loves us. Some focus on addressing serious social issues like poverty alleviation. Others address the challenges of living as a Christian after coming to faith as an adult. My books for children retell the story of Scripture and show how the whole Bible points toward Christ.

My most recent book is Faith Simplified: What We Believe and Why We Believe It. This book invites readers to “try the untried”—for the curious, the new believer, and the committed Christian to explore the truths that shape our faith.

I primarily write about life and faith from a Christian perspective

This gives me a lot of leeway in terms of what specific topics I address. Sometimes I focus on a tough bit of theology. Other times, I’ll consider the implications of what Christians say we believe on how we live in the world. Occasionally, this means addressing hot button social and political issues.

I am an immigrant

My family and I moved to the United States in the summer of 2016 when I accepted the role of Brand Manager for The Gospel Project with Lifeway Christian Resources. The transition has not been without its challenges—especially as popular discourse around immigrants and immigration has become hostile. As of 2026, my family and I are all United States citizens, and are grateful to be a part of helping this nation live up to its ideals.

I work in publishing

Like so many writers today, I am bi-vocational. I spent my first five years in the United States serving as the Brand Manager of The Gospel Project at Lifeway Christian Resources. Today, I work as a marketing director in the Thomas Nelson Bibles group at HarperCollins Christian Publishing.
